AUGUST 30, 2001 FEDERATION MEETING MINUTES
The August Federation Meeting was convened on
Thursday, August 30, at 7:45 p.m., in the Lobby of Pohai Nani.
1. Attendance: Federation Chairman, Treasurer, and Secretary. The following clubs were
represented: Hayseeds, Pali
Twirlers, and Square Wheelers.
2. Minutes: The Minutes of the
August 3rd meeting were reviewed. No
corrections were noted and the minutes were accepted as submitted.
3. Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer’s report was distributed for
review. The balance in
checking as of 8/30/01 was $2,089.29, and in savings $1,577.45, for a total
of $3,667.44. The Treasurer
noted that our 2003 Festival ad in the National Square Dance Directory cost
$180, which reflected a 50% discount.
He also noted that we received our deposit back from Dan because the
Federation picnic at Bellows was cancelled.
4. 2002 Hawaii State Festival: No
report.
5. Correspondence: None
of significance.

Old Business:
a. Festival Marketing
Initiatives. Henry reported that he and Janet are in the process of
mailing approximately 200 letters with flyers and registration forms to
various West Coast and Canadian clubs and organizations. Ads have also been placed in the
Square Dance Directory and the Southwest Dancers magazine.
7. New Business: None
8. Club Reports/Events: Future events are listed on the Web Page,
recorded on the Hot Line, and printed in the Coming Events Flyer (remember,
written or e-mail notes are requested to ensure accuracy).

Pali Twirlers: The Pali Twirlers will be hosting their Fall
Fling on Sunday, October 28, at the Ala Wai Palladium from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30
p.m. with Andy Scott, caller, and Dan Drumheller, cuer.
b. Square Wheelers and Hayseeds:
Dave reported that 21 students have signed up for the 2nd session of
lessons beginning September 9th. Greeters
and angels are needed from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.at the Palladium on Sundays.
c. Federation Picnic: The
Federation picnic was cancelled because the Wailuna Lodge was not available
until after 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays, contrary to terms previously agreed
upon.
9. Next Meeting: The
next meeting will be held on Friday, September 28th, at 7:00 p.m. at the
Red Hill Community Center.
10. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
